Delaware State University gearing up for a big weekend with homecoming just around the corner

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State University students are getting ready for their homecoming weekend.

The university will be playing South Carolina State this Saturday, and officials say they’re gearing up for a big weekend. Visitors are expected to attend the event from all over the state.

Carlos Holmes, with DSU, said they’re expecting a pretty substantial economic impact in the area.

“We have economic impact. We’re all year round by our very presence here, and the impact on businesses is big. The impact just on everything economic here in this area, and in the state of Delaware, is big. But homecoming is a special time, and people have got to spend their money somewhere,” Holmes said.

Holmes is looking forward to seeing all the students, both past and present, in their red and royal blue gear at homecoming this weekend.
