Asexual Awareness Week in full swing
DELMARVA – The last week in October celebrates asexual awareness.
47 ABC spoke with Salisbury PFLAG who says to be asexual refers to someone who is not physically, emotionally, or spiritually attracted to someone else or lacks this attraction. Though PFLAG doesn’t have any events planned, they will be doing awareness campaigns to make as many communities as they can feel included.
Officials say knowing more about different communities is important because people come in different varieties. “Individuals have many different varieties that they come in, different shapes, sizes, religions, ethnic backgrounds. There’s a whole diversity and inclusion that a lot of people aren’t understanding what’s missing,” said Mark DeLancey, the Executive Director of Salisbury PFLAG.
DeLancey encourages anyone who is looking to connect or host an event to contact Salisbury PFLAG.
