Wear Yellow Day just 1 day away

DELMARVA – Tomorrow is wear yellow day, its in honor of suicide prevention.

Wicomico County Health Department is working to raise awareness. They tell 47ABC that the color yellow was chosen because it is a bright color symbolizing joy.

The campaign pushes to help those suffering to discuss, connect, and learn more about the resources available to them.

Michelle Hardy with the Wicomico County Health Department why suicide prevention is more important now than ever, “We are starting to see a trend nationwide with an increase in suicide numbers, its very important to know the warning signs of suicide. We also promote educational activities such as mental health first aid, ” said Hardy.

Hardy says if you or someone you know is struggling reach out to your local health department or the Jesse Klump awareness program for assistance.
