UPDATE: EF-0 tornado confirmed in Sussex Co.
DAGSBORO, Del. – The National Weather Service has confirmed that a strong EF-0 tornado touched down in Dagsboro Monday afternoon.
The tornado is reported to have touched down at 2:55 p.m. and remained on the ground for two minutes, lifting at 2:57 p.m. With peak winds estimated at 85 mph, the tornado traveled 0.7 miles and was 370 yards wide.
The tornado began along Adams Road, just east of Dagsboro, likely reaching its maximum width near the intersection of Tingle Lane. It then continued a short distance down Piney Neck Road before it likely lifted.
