Heacook Fest announces new changes for 2024
DELMAR, Del. – Heacook Fest is getting a new date, April of next year.
The festival honors fallen Delmar Police Corporal Keith Heacook, who was killed in the line of duty in 2021. Last year the event brought in about 1900 people to celebrate Corporal Heacook’s legacy.
The funds raised went to local charities including Tunnel to Towers, Operation We Care, and Behind the Line. Organizers tell 47 ABC with outdoor concerts weather can always be an issue.
However, this time around, you can expect bigger and better after hearing some community input. “A lot of people said they would like to see something family-friendly, so we decided Friday night would be the party. Saturday we’ll do an all-day event at the amphitheater at Kylan Barn with a helicopter and this time we’ll do a lot of bouncy houses,” said Doug Marshall.
This year the festival will be two days, April 26th and 27th. Organizer Doug Marshall hopes you will come out and support law enforcement peer wellness.
