Caroline Co. man charged with attempted murder following trespassing dispute
FEDERALSBURG, Md – A Federalsburg man has been charged with second degree murder and other charges after police say he opened fire outside his home early Sunday morning.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Caroline County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 28400 block of Bloomery Road for a report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Further investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Thomas Barr, had fired two rounds in the direction of the victim during a trespassing dispute.
The victim suffered from a single gunshot wound to the chest and was provided medical care at the scene before being taken to Nanticoke Hospital and later Christiana Hospital for further treatment
Barr was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder, reckless endangerment, first and second degree assault, possession of a rifle by a prohibited person, using a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
