Hardwire LLC receives funding for 4.0 tech
POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Governor Wes Moore announcing the second round of funding for the Maryland manufacturing program.
Right here on Delmarva, one of our local businesses was a recipient of the first round, Hardwire LLC. The program provides grants to small and mid-sized manufacturers so they can invest in 4.0 technologies.
The state hopes with this funding companies can modernize their operations. 47 ABC spoke with Hardwire who says this is helpful for small businesses and will go far in supporting them.
“Manufacturing 4.0 is doing that to our people. Our people are about 10x more effective per person so they got 10x more output than they would normally have and what we use them for is armor manufacturing, for our soft armor products. They go to the SOCOM warriors, the Marine Corps, and the U.S. Army,” CEO George Tunis said.
With this funding, Hardwire will add as many robots as possible to its operations. Applications for the 4.0 program’s second round will close on October 18th.
