DSP arrests man for threatening a stranger with a knife

Kj 1SEAFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested 25-year-old Kaymar James of Seaford after he threatened to kill someone with a knife in the parking lot of Shore Tint and More on Friday.

On August 25th, 2023, at 8:58 A.M. troopers responded to Shore Tint and More located at 1602 Middleford Road for a man yelling and threatening to kill people in the parking lot. Troopers learned that a 25-year-old man was about to start cutting the grass at the business when a stranger approached him and asked for money. The victim did not give the suspect any money, so the suspect took a pocketknife out of his pants and threatened to kill the victim. The suspect then walked away while still yelling at the victim.

Responding troopers found the suspect, identified as Kaymar James, walking on Sussex Highway, and he was taken into custody without incident.

James was taken to Troop 5 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing
  • Terroristic Threatening

James was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on an $8,000 unsecured bond.
