Death Investigation Underway in Somerset Co.

CRISFIELD, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man in Somerset County.

Police have identified the deceased as Kevin Lamont Jackson of Crisfield, Maryland. The cause of death is pending an autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.

Jackson was found by the Crisfield Police Department in a vehicle before 2:30 A.M on August 20th, 2023 in the 100 block of Somers Cove. Officers found him in a car, parked off the road while conducting routine patrol in the area of Charlotte Avenue.

When police approached the car, they found Jackson in the driver’s seat with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene. Technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division processed and collected evidence from the scene after obtaining a search warrant.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack and the Criminal Enforcement Division Eastern Region also responded to the scene. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation at the request of the Crisfield Police Department. “Our homicide detectives have been working on this case and they’re following all leads that they have. In a case like this one, we want to ask the public if someone saw something or knows something to call MSP,” said Ngan Ho with the Maryland State Police.
