$200K to help expand the SWIFT Program
SALISBURY, Md. – TidalHealth is receiving $200,000 to support its SWIFT program.
It’s a partnership with the Salisbury Fire Department, that’s been around since 2017. The free program provides assistance to anyone in need of emergency services for low-level 911 calls.
Currently, it operates about 2 to 3 days a week, but with this funding, it can expand to 5 days a week.
TidalHealth officials say more changes are coming too. “It’s also going to allow some home modifications for patients who are calling 911 because of their housing conditions and fall safety risks in their home. We’re partnering with local contractors to be able to do some home modifications and then bringing in a physical therapist to work with the patient in their home,” said Kat Rodgers with TidalHealth.
This week marks the 2nd anniversary of the new model for SWIFT. Kat Rodgers says they will continue to grow the program.
