Peace and prayer walk for healing in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – In Salisbury, community organizations are coming together to bring unity to the area.
This follows the mass shooting that killed a person back on July 5th.
The Watchmen with One Voice Ministerial Alliance is hosting peace walks to spread healing and transformation in the community. Reverend Dr. Lewis Watson says there’s so much division in the community, but with peace and prayer, he’s seeing more people coming together.
On Sunday they held their 2nd peace walk that church officials say has been helping people spiritually. “Once again we brought together our community, there was diversity. We did notice that we had more pastors to join us, we were so excited and during the walk souls were saved and lives were given to Christ,” said Reverand Dr. Lewis Watson of First Baptist Church.
We’re told more peace walks are set to happen in the area of Smith Street and Waverly Street. At these events, there will be mental health professionals and crisis response agencies to assist with grief.
