New Wi-Fi hub open at Talbot County Free Library

TALBOT COUNTY, Md. – The Talbot County Library now has a free community wifi center.

Officials say this will provide access to high-speed internet for students and residents in the rural area. To make this possible it comes from a partnership with Parks and Rec along with the Maryland State Library System.

Christina Acosta with the Library says that internet access is limited in the area so this makes a great addition. She also says this comes at the perfect timing: “To help students and families access the Internet for academic and personal needs without having to drive to Easton or Cambridge and more daily tasks are becoming more Internet based and that includes paying your bills, or any task for work,” said Christina Acosta with the Talbot County Library.

Acosta says this is also a good resource because students have more online tasks since coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
