Bodhi Kitchen opens their doors in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A brand new restaurant is bringing Asian-inspired street food offerings to Rehoboth Beach, looking to offer a new variety of cuisine to the area.

Bodhi Kitchen opened its doors at 5 pm Wednesday, after a delayed opening that originally had the restaurant slated for an April opening day.

Co-Owner Tyler Townsend tells 47ABC they were looking to create an upscale atmosphere inside the restaurant, complete with a corner bar and Thai decorations.

He tells us the menu was developed after realizing that while Thai food was of their favorite offerings, there were limited options on Delmarva to satisfy that craving.

“Our corporate chef Lion Gardener, he travels a lot to Southeast Asia and it was always kind of staff meals at the restaurants he’d worked in at home, so we just started talking and we’re like, hey, let’s go for like kind of a pan-Asian feel of doing basically elevated street food from all the things that he loves when he eats over there,” Townsend said.

Townsend says as Co-Owner of Drift in Rehoboth, they know what to expect when it comes to a rush of customers, and took an extra ten days to make sure the restaurant was running smoothly before committing to a hard open, after a soft open earlier in the week.

He tells us he is excited for customers to try their offerings of dumplings, braised shortribs, and more.

“My favorite things when we did soft openings in the feedback so far have been the shrimp toast, the dumplings, and the cumin lamb noodles,” Townsend said adding “the cumin lamb noodles are probably my favorite, we make the noodles hand-pulled noodles and house, 24-hour braised lamb, so that’s definitely my go-to when we come in here,” Townsend said.

Bodhi Kitchen is open 7 days a week and is located at 10 North Street in Rehoboth Beach.
