UPDATE: Seaford man killed in Bethel crash

BETHEL, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal collision early this morning in Bethel that left one man dead.

At around 2:15 a.m. Sunday around, police say a 2017 white Ford Fiesta was traveling eastbound on Shell Bridge Road west of South Shell Bridge Road. The Ford was approaching an S-curve at a high speed when it reportedly lost control and veered off the south edge of the roadway. The Ford then hit a raised embankment, causing it to go airborne for an unknown distance before coming to a stop against the guardrail.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old John Littleton of Seaford, was ejected from the rolling vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
