Delaware Moms Demand Action rally in favor of Permit To Purchase bill

DOVER, Del. – Delaware Moms Demand action rallying for passage of a permit to purchase bill for firearms in the first state.
The event saw survivors of gun violence speaking about their experiences, relaying how gun violence has found its way into their communities and how it affects them long after the violence stops.
They’re calling the measure a modernization of the state’s gun laws.
One survivor and volunteer tell us gun violence is something no one should ever have to experience.
“Sometimes you can be at the right place at the wrong time, I was out one night trying to have a good time with friends. Shots got fired. We start running. I kept running, turned around, my friend was down, she got hit by a stray bullet, so it can literally be anywhere and if we don’t do what’s necessary to put those protections in place, more people can get harmed,” said Volunteer Jalyn Powell.
Senate Bill two has passed the Senate and is currently in the House Ways and Means Committee.
