DSO holds recycling event at Wicomico County Landfill

SALISBURY, Md.  – The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Delta Sigma Omega chapter gave a special thanks to all those recyclings in the Salisbury area.

As part of their Enhance Our Environment initiative, the chapter held an event at the Wicomico County Landfill encouraging people to use the recycling options available. All those who were recycling were given a card for a free dessert from Chic-Fil-A.

The Chapter president tells us the sorority has a history of community service and were thrilled with the turnout.

“We came out today to thank our friends and neighbors for recycling, giving them a thank you card for their efforts to save the environment,” said Chapter President Kara Miciotto.

The sorority’s chapter will also be holding a paper shredding event on June 17th to help people get rid of their sensitive documents in an environmentally friendly way.
