Salisbury man arrested for sex offense involving juvenile

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is facing sex offense charges following an incident on Tuesday.

Deputies with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location just outside of Salisbury for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police say the exact location of the offense is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim. When the deputy arrived at the scene, they found a man, identified as 24-year-old Deric Rust and a 13-year-old juvenile having what appeared to be sexual intercourse.

Rust was subsequently arrested for sex offense related charges. He was originally held without bond but was released on Wednesday on his own recognizance.
