Police investigating two bomb threats at Dorchester Co. school
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Police are investigating two separate bomb threats at a Cambridge school earlier this week.
The first incident took place just after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School. Cambridge Police and the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office responded, and investigation revealed that an unknown male subject used a fake number to call into the school office, stating that there was a bomb. The school was placed in a “Shelter In Place” and then evacuated while multiple bomb detection K9 teams responded to the school. Following a search of the building, the threat was deemed non-credible.
Shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday, law enforcement officers were called to Cambridge-South Dorchester High School again for a reported bomb threat. It was learned that an unknown male subject had once again used a fake number to call into the school office, stating there was a bomb. The school was searched and the treat was found to be non-credible.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with any information on the threat is asked to contact police.
