Mollura’s portrait chosen for Biggs Art Museum
MILFORD, Del. – Milford portrait photographer John Mollura earned a big honor in Delaware. His image was chosen to be part of an iconic rock and roll photo exhibit in Delaware.
You may remember him for his art we covered on a Brightside. Mollura submitted 3 photos to be a part of the Biggs Art Museum “Front Row Center – Icons of Rock, Blues and Soul” exhibit. His image was chosen from hundreds of national submissions. The image that won was of the moment Dayne Jordan the MC for DJ Jazzy Jeff took flight midsong in a downpour. Mollura made it through a national selection, boiled down to 30 people for the final selection.
Mollura takes pictures of people who have went through so much and overcome it. He says to have an honor like this means a lot.
“It’s mind blowing, because I grew up – thanks to my uncles Georgian dentist and their vinyl collections in the 80s. Growing up listening to all these musicians that now my work is next to,” Mollura said.
His photograph is currently on display at the exhibit at the Biggs Art Museum.
