Millsboro teens arrested after being found in stolen vehicle
MILLSBORO, Del. – 19-year-old Sheldon Harrison of Millsboro is facing charges after police say he was found driving a stolen car.
On May 28th, around 9:56 p.m., a Delaware State Police trooper observed a blue 2017 Hyundai Elantra traveling southbound on Pyle Center Road, south of Shockley Town Road. The trooper ran a computer check of the car’s plates, and found that the vehicle had been reported stolen by Salisbury Police Department on May 25th.
The trooper attempted to pull the driver over, but the driver accelerated forward. Police say the driver hit and damaged a homeowner’s septic tank before coming to a stop. He and two passengers got out of the car and tried to run away, according to police. All three were taken into custody, with assistance from the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit.
Harrison is charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, criminal trespass third degree, and numerous traffic violations. He was released on $3,802 unsecured bond.
Both passengers, identified as 16-year-old boys from Millsboro, were charged with resisting arrest. They were both released to their parents.
