Maryland Representative David Trone announces bid for US Senate

MARYLAND – Maryland 6th Congressional District Representative David Trone through his hat into the ring Thursday to run for Maryland Senate, looking to take the seat being vacated by Senator Ben Cardin after he announced he will not seek re-election.

Representative Trone says bipartisan efforts to fund health care, addiction recovery, and prison reform have been a focal point for him for years, and he wants to bring that experience to the Senate.

He tells as a business owner, and farmer he wants to bring that experience, of building success and taking care of his employees to the US Senate.

Representative Trone says the Eastern Shore, just like western Maryland, shouldn’t be forgotten, by members of both parties.

“My whole position is; how do we get folks across the aisle to connect with each other and get stuff done over the finish line I’m ranked the tenth most bipartisan member of Congress that’s out of 535 and I spend all my time getting Republicans to cross the aisle and on my bills because we agree,” Rep. Trone said.

Representative Trone tells us he is focused on bringing rural communities in the state up to speed, with more rural grant development and infrastructure spending.
