Lifeguards officially on duty in Ocean City
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Beach Patrol says lifeguards are back on duty for the Summer. They will be on duty from 10AM to 5:30PM daily, until the third Sunday following Labor Day Monday.
Starting at 5:25PM daily, you will see lifeguards signaling everyone out of the ocean. Officials say you can ask the lifeguard on duty about any potential dangers on the beach. They are also reminding beachgoers to keep their feet in the sand until the lifeguard’s in the stand and to swim near a lifeguard.
The mission of the Ocean City Beach Patrol is to provide for the safety and well-being of the beach patrons of the Town of Ocean City, Maryland, who participate in beach and ocean-related activities. This mission includes educating the public, preventing potential accidents, and intervening when necessary and appropriate, both on the beach and in the adjacent Atlantic Ocean waters.
