Cape Henlopen claims first-ever DIAA boys volleyball championship
SMYRNA, Del. – It took Cape Henlopen boys volleyball just three seasons to reach the pinnacle of Delaware high school boys volleyball. The Vikings upset previously-unbeaten Salesianum in the first-ever DIAA championship game in straight sets Tuesday night.
Cape had been swept by Salesianum in the regular season, but won two critical points to end the first set after being nodded at 23-all.
From there all of the momentum was on Cape Henlopen’s side.
Senior Dylan Henry led the way with 11 kills, while seniors Brady Lamb and Nicholas Panyko combined with 13 digs.
