1 person found dead in a Laurel fire
LAUREL, Del. – The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a fire that killed one person.
The Fire Marshal’s office says the blaze broke out before noon in the 17000 block of Phillips Hill Road east of East Trap Pond Road. Firefighters arrived on the scene, where flames engulfed out the house trailer. When conducting a search, firefighters discovered one person.
Deputy fire marshals are currently on the scene searching for the origin and cause of the fire. The Delaware Division of Forensic Science took custody of the victim at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
The heavy fire damage is estimated at $50,000. There were no other injuries reported and at this time, an investigation is ongoing.
