Salisbury man indicted on rape charges
SALISBURY, Md. – A Wicomico County Grand Jury has indicted a man on rape and sex offense charges.
The investigation began on February 26th, when deputies responded to TidalHealth in reference to a victim that had been taken to the hospital by EMS. Detectives learned that the adult male victim had been sexually assaulted by a subject, identified as 37-year-old Ricky Nelson Jr., while the victim was unconscious.
It was also learned that Nelson had physically assaulted another male victim in July of 2018. Both incidents allegedly took place at the suspect’s residence.
On April 3rd, Nelson was indicted on charges of second degree rape, third degree sex offense, first and second degree assault, and sex offense fourth degree sexual contact. He was served with the arrest warrant on April 6th and later released on his own recognizance.
