Cambridge Harbor receives $1M for design phase

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Harbor’s demolition phase is complete now the project is moving toward the design phase.

The project is set to bring more visitors to the area and create more spaces for the community to come out and enjoy. The Cambridge Waterfront Development Incorporation is working to find the developer to begin the design phase to build the coming infrastructure.

Just last week, the project received $1,000,000 from the state to start the next steps. “To help us with the infrastructure development so we have enough funds to design and develop the public infrastructure, parks and promenade out there all the way til 2024. We have enough operating funds through 2025,” said Executive Director Matt Leonard, with the Cambridge Waterfront Development Incorporation.

The design for all the public spaces is underway and a new road will be built in the area which the community will have the opportunity to name.
