MSP investigating fatal Queen Anne’s County Crash
STEVENSVILLE, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Queen Anne’s County.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m., troopers from the Centreville Barrack responded to a reported crash in the area of westbound Route 50, east of Piney Creek Road. The preliminary investigation indicates that a BMW SUV was traveling west on Route 50 when it was hit in the rear by a Jaguar. The Jaguar then hit the center guardrail, while the BMW continued west and traveled off of the road through a fence.
Police have identified the victim as 44-year-old Vincent Nixon of Chester, Maryland. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jaguar is identified as 45-year-old John Mudge of Stevensville. Mudge was flown by medevac to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was a 2006 BMW X3. The driver is identified as 40-year-old Brenda Young of Greensboro. Young was taken to the University of Maryland Emergency Center at Queenstown.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation and consultation with the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is continuing the investigation.
