Heacook Fest 2023 announces charities the event will help to raise funds for

DELMAR, Md- Operation We Care today is thanking the community for being included as one of the beneficiaries of this year’s Heacook Fest.

The Charity, along with Tunnels to Towers and Behind The Line was announced as being the groups that will have funds raised from ticket sales at the event scheduled for Sunday, April 30th. 

Heacook Fest 2023 celebrates the life and sacrifice of Delmar Police Corporal Keith Heacook who died in the line of duty responding to a call in 2021.

This year the festival will be featuring music from LoCash and Jimmy Charles, with ticket sales benefiting local and national organizations.

Operation We Care Founder Jeff Merritt says he’s thrilled that the dollars raised will go to sending more care packages to soldiers, and healthcare workers.

“We are honored to be a part of this, what we have done has grown beyond our wildest dreams and it is a testimony to the community and their support of what we do,” Merritt said. 

He tells us the event still needs to raise around $17,000 to cover operating expenses and is looking for sponsors.
