Downtown Milford businesses say the town is on the upswing
MILFORD, Del.- Downtown Milford is experiencing a businesses boom, with new businesses like spiritual supply store, Stone, and Sage celebrating their 6 months as new businesses are coming online soon.
Kat Perfetti of Stone and Sage opened her businesses just 6 months ago, the store offers crystals, incense, and a crystal light therapy room.
Perfetti says it was a gamble when she opened it, using finances from her previous food truck business, but has been thrilled with the turnout.
“I am excited to be part of the small business scene here in Milford it is on a glow up a lot of new businesses are coming to downtown we opened about 6 months ago this was something I wanted to do for a long time,” Peretti said.
She says the town is on an upswing, as local business owners Marissa and Zack King have been renovating old buildings in the town, turning them into new retail spaces.
Zack King told 47ABC that their latest venture, Fondue is set to open in Penny Square by the end of the month.
The refurbishment of spaces is helping not just their own businesses, according to Mike Perfetti, Kat’s husband, and owner of the tattoo parlor Milford Branding Company.
Mike Perfetti says in the 8 years he has run the parlor, the feel of downtown has changed to be more welcoming to tourists, and in turn has boosted the number of folks stopping in, even during the off-season.
“When we first opened the first 34 years it was very seasonal like you knew when it would drop off now it’s steady all the time we’ve scaled back our hours we could be tattooing until 10 o’clock at night if we wanted to,” he said.
