Delmarva Chicken Festival making its way back to Delmarva after 9 years

SALISBURY, Md. – The Delmarva Chicken Festival returns this coming October.

After a 9-year hiatus, the free event is back with all the festivities. You can expect to see 2 stages with musical performances, chicken eating contests, and vendors. There will be an educational aspect highlighting the process of egg to farm to plate.

There will be a historical walkthrough to learn about the chicken industry here on Delmarva. “This year alone we’re talking about 5 billion dollars in GDP for our value in chicken here on Delmarva, so its people, its economics, its heritage, and of course it’s all doing things that are important to sustaining our environment,” said Holly Porter, the Executive Director of Delmarva Chicken Association.

It’s all for a good cause all the proceeds will go to the Delmarva Chicken Associations scholarship fund. The big festival is making its return on October 7.
