Decatur claims 3A crown for the first time since 2018
BERLIN, Md.– The Decatur Seahawks won the 3A regional championship on Thursday night after defeating North East 72-60.
The Seahawks came out of the gate strong after winning the tip-off and getting a lob to Davin Chandler for 2. Decatur would go into the half with a 30-24 lead over the Eagles.
Halfway through the 3rd, Decatur would go up double digits on the Eagles. North East would find themselves down 49-37 going into the final quarter.
The Eagles had absolutely no answer for Trybe Wise or Brycen Coleman as they combined for 36 of the Seahawks 72 points. Davin Chandler, Jayden Hudson, and Zakhari Baker all combined for 36 points for Decatur as well.
