Award-winning Milford photographer opens new accesible studio
MILFORD, Del.- Award-Winning Photographer John Mollura says his mission of helping people find new confidence and beauty in themselves with his portraits, is announcing the grand opening of his new handicap-accessible photographer studio in Milford.
“I want people to recognize they are worthy of the love they have and the accomplishments they have and I look to serve them by giving them something to see,” Mollura said.
He says his new studio, which was custom-made to his specifications will help, with high ceilings designed to get dramatic lighting angles as well as being located on the first floor of a handicap-accessible building.
A feature he said he wanted after doing a shoot with an 11-year-old girl with cerebral palsy who had the goal of being a model despite being unable to walk.
“We were able to do a fantastic shoot outdoors for her but it broke my heart that I couldn’t bring her up to my photo studio to give her the full experience,” Mollura said adding that with the new location, “the sky is the limit on who we can serve.”
He says he prides himself on his process with clients, including helping them through posing, providing complimentary makeup, and subtle editing on the photographs to help give people the image of themselves they would want.
He tells us his favorite part is presenting the clients with pictures in the form of a physical portrait or portfolio.
“These days with smartphones we take these pictures and they go to the graveyard I call it of images, I want people to have tangible things to hold that remind them of how extraordinary they are,” Mollura said.
