$5M in funding approved for Easton park
EASTON, Md. – $5 million dollars approved for the town of Easton for the purchase of Woodland Park.
It will be 197 acres of an all-natural park filled with trails and paths for recreation for community members to take part in. This funding approval was the final step in the grant process, after the Maryland General Assembly approved their portion of the request.
47ABC spoke with the town who said this was the missing piece to the puzzle. Now they’re happy to move forward with the development of the park. “It’s just over 5 million dollars it’s coming from program open space, which is a department of natural resources grant program that’s designed to help municipalities with some financial support, so they can acquire recreational areas for the public,” says Greg Mueller with the Town of Easton.
In fact, it will be the largest park in Easton with the town acquiring this property, the land will be safeguarded for future development.
