Heacook Fest returns for 2023
DELMAR, Md. – Heacook Fest will be returning this year, honoring the legacy of Corporal Keith Heacook who was killed in the line of duty in 2021.
Delmar Mayor Ben Jorden says the festival will be held in the same venue, as last year’s event and will be held on the last Sunday in April.
Heacook Fest will feature live music from country artist band LOCASH, food from local vendors, and raffles to support troubled youth programming.
Jorden tells 47 ABC that last year’s event saw 2,500 people, and organizers are hoping to hit 4,000 ticket sales this year.
“Keith, when he laid down his life for our community and we all mourned that as a town I haven’t seen a more united Delmar, it’s awesome we can do events like this to keep the legacy going,” Mayor Jorden said.
Ticket sales from the event will also go towards funding scholarships for area students looking to become police officers.
Tickets are 30 dollars and will be sold on the Heackook Fest 2023 Eventbrite page.
