Man sentenced to 25 years for Salisbury home invasion

1280 Wislet Gerard

SALISBURY, Md. – A Wicomico County judge has sentenced a man to 25 years behind bars for a 2020 home invasion.

25-year-old Wislet Gerard entered a guilty plea to home invasion on November 17, 2022, and sentencing was deferred pending completion of a pre-sentence investigation.

On October 14, 2020, Gerard broke into the home of the 65-year-old victim in Salisbury with the intent to commit a sexual offense upon her. Gerard reportedly awoke the victim and stated “I want to have sex with you” before climbing on top of the victim in bed and pulling at her clothing. The victim fought back and was able to fend off Gerard by hitting him with her crutch, causing him to leave the residence.

Gerard will not be eligible for parole until he serves half of his sentence.
