Jack Heath Sworn in as Salisbury Mayor

JackheathSALISBURY, MD- Former Salisbury City Council President Jack Heath is now officially Salisbury’s latest mayor as of a ceremony Friday night.

Jack Heath is taking over the role, as now Salisbury Mayor Jake Day takes on the role of State Housing and Community Development Director under the Moore Administration.
Heath was appointed to City Council in 2014 and was elected Council President in 2015.

Prior to his tenure on City Council,  Heath worked for more than 35 years in manufacturing across various positions.

Heath says his tenure will build on Day’s legacy, with housing and safety as his biggest priorities.

“My priorities are increasing the housing inventory, especially providing for people who cannot afford the cost of houses today and also reducing the rents by increasing housing inventory and my first priority will always be the safety and security of the city,” he said.

Heath will serve the remaining roughly ten months of Day’s term. A new Mayor will be elected in November.
