Easton approved for 197 acre park
EASTON, Md. – The town has now been approved for a new 197 acre park.
It’s located on Oxford road. The park will be an open space filled with hiking trails, walking paths and picnic tables. The town says this will be a place on the greenbelt where you can just get out and enjoy the area.
47 ABC spoke with the town’s mayor to learn what made this park possible. “There was a project open space money available through the state it required a contribution from the town, also from the county they each put up $100,000 so for $200,000 we gained 200 acres of woodland and open space that will be there forever,” says Mayor Robert Willey.
The Easton Mayor says the park is still in the preliminary process, however, work is set to begin in the summer to early fall.
