ChristianaCare opens new primary care facility in Rehoboth Beach
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – ChristianaCare has opened a new primary care facility to help residents in Rehoboth Beach.
The office will offer care to ages 18 and up. They specialize in longer appointments to get to know patients better. Also, in the same location there will be ChristianaCare My65+ tailored to adults over 65, which will provide medication management, nutritional guidance, and specialist coordination.
Dr. David Trinkley who will run the practice explains the difference between the traditional primary care and this new facility in Rehoboth. “I dont think you can correctly diagnose and listen to a patient within fifteen minutes, here your initial visit is one hour following, follow up visits that can be anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes, and this way we can spend more time with our patients. We’re able to listen to them better, we’re able to examine them better, and focus on things that would be lost in a traditional office visit,” says Dr. Trinkley with ChristianaCare.
The facility also provides mental health and services as well and has a pharmacist on site. Officials say the need for care has increased in the area. “The need for primary and specialty care services in southern Delaware continues to grow. By 2025, Sussex County is projected to have approximately 256,000 residents, and nearly 77,000 of those will be 65 or older (30% versus 17% nationally).”
For care, you can visit the facility on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach.
