$1 million dollars set to revamp the Goggin Manor House
CAMDEN, Del. – 1 million dollars coming to a home in kent county.
The Goggin Manor House is set to receive some renovations. The house is at the Brecknock County Park which was built in 4 stages starting back in the 18th century. The home is constructed of brick and paneling. To make this all possible $500,000 comes from the Historic Preservation Fund and the Kent County Levy Court matched that funding.
47 ABC spoke with parks and rec to know what these renovations include. “Our goal is to make the first floor publicly accessible. You have to understand that a lot of money is going to the mechanicals of the building, imagine old electricity the old plumbing, the old heating and ventilation, and the air of that sort of thing, says Jeremy Sheppard, Director of Parks and Recreation in Kent County.
The director with parks and rec is hopeful the project gets done on time however, being that the home is old, issues could arise. The funding period ends on September 30th, 2025.
