Shore Up to offer energy bill assistance

SALISBURY, Md. – Good news for residents on the lower Eastern Shore who need some financial relief.

Shore Up is now offering energy assistance funding. That includes 3 different types of financial assistance for energy and home heating bills.
The Maryland Energy Assistance Program to pay heating bills. The Electric Universal Service Program to pay electric bills. Also, the Arrearage Retirement Assistance Program for those who are carrying a bill past due of $300 dollars or more.

However to receive this funding, you do have to meet certain income requirements. “Theres an income requirement and its open to home owners or renters, it doesn’t matter you don’t have to be a homeowner to use this benefit, but you do have to meet a certain income requirement,” says Julie Peters, the Chief Communications Officer at Shore Up.

To apply for this funding, you can call Shore Up’s energy assistance office at 410-341-9634 or stop by the office on Snow Hill Road.
