HALO Ministries in need of food donations amid the holiday season

SALISBURY, Md. – Hope and Life Outreach Ministry is looking for the community’s help.

They are seeing a growth in the number of meals they are providing to the homeless community. Now they need your help to donate the basics: things like milk, eggs, tea bags, and sugar. They say with the cold weather coming they expect to have more people to feed.

The CEO of the organization says the growing need in the community has created this food shortage. “It’s just the staple items that we tend to be going through. With our 22% increase here, with the number of meals I believe we had said we were going to do 90,000 this year, I believe we’re going to top it and go way above that,” says Celeste Savage, the CEO and Executive Director at HALO Ministries.

The shelter is also in need of volunteers, their next orientation for you to learn more is on Wednesday at 6 PM. HALO is also accepting donations for its welcome kits. In the kit, the shelter provides toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and other personal items.
