Broadband service in Wicomico County enters phase 2
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – If you’re a Wicomico County resident, broadband concerns may no longer be a problem in the future.
Upgrades are coming to the area. This project is still in the funding process and has recently completed phase one on time, successfully. Wicomico County Council elect, Jeff Merritt has met with community residents, Talkie Communications, and the county’s IT department and they all agree that this is a much-needed service.
One man tells Merrit he’s lived in Pittsville for 20 years and this is the first time access has been brought to them. “It’s the 21st century, there’s really no reason why we all can’t have internet access with the pandemic, COVID, coming in a couple of years ago, people having to work from home and learn from home, that was a bit of a challenge, because if you didn’t have internet access, how can you get connected to the outside world?, says Jeff Merritt, the Wicomico County Council Elect for District 2.
In order to bring internet service to Wicomico County, Talkie Fiber needs letters of support. Send letters to the email below and why the service would be beneficial to your area.
