Warriorfest in Salisbury raises money for area veterans

SALISBURY, Md- Music, patriotism, and good times were all part of Warriorfest at the Elks Lodge in Salisbury, looking to raise upwards of 20,000 dollars for local area veterans.
The event featured a bake sale, beer tickets, a silent auction, blackjack, and more, all aimed at making donating to the cause a good time.
Elks Lodge President Jan Phipps tells 47ABC, the support of the community is something they never have to worry about.
“Every year we sell out, the community support is just absolutely incredible and it takes my whole heart it really does,” Phipps said.
The event raising over 80,000 dollars since starting in 2016, helping the Phalanx program with getting veterans’ addiction treatment, housing, and help with payments.
They say this year’s event saw the highest turnout and they can’t wait to honor those who served next year.
