Turn in your gun magazine in the first state to get compensated
DELAWARE – It’s time to turn in your magazines.
That is a gun magazine capable of holding more than the usual number of rounds in your firearm. This comes after “The program stems from new legislation from Governor John Carney back in June,” says Arshon Howard, Chief of Community Relations, with the Department of Safety and Homeland Security.
Compensation for magazine buyback ranges anywhere between 15 to 80 dollars in cash.
“Delawareans providing valid identification for proof of residency may receive:
• LCM 18 to 30 Rounds – $15 • LCM 31 or greater round – $25 • LCM Drums – $80″This program does not apply to wholesale, retail, manufacturers, and businesses. DSHS says this is a much-needed program to keep communities in the first safe. “To compensate owners to relinquish these large capacity magazines, so that with the buyback that we’re hosting in November we’re hopeful that it will reduce the large capacity magazines that we’re seeing in our communities,” says Howard.
This program is for Delaware residents only. The first buyback day is November 16th at Delaware State Police Troops’ 2, 3, and 4 between 4 and 8 PM.
