Controlled Chaos BeerFest set to bring 65+ Breweries from around the nation to Berlin

Burley Oak BreweryBERLIN, Md- Rain or shine, Saturday will mark the beginning of a new festival coming to Berlin that promises over 135 beers from 65 breweries across the nation for attendees to try.

The Controlled Chaos Beerfest will feature live music, food trucks, and a beer garden filled with local, national, and microbrewed beers, meads, ciders, and more.

Organizer and Burley Oak Chief of Operations Adam Davis tells 47ABC, the event was built on other beer fests around the nation that he wanted to bring to the Eastern Shore.

“We are trying to bring some of the best beer in the country to the eastern shore, we go to a lot of beer feats all over we wanted to do that same thing here,” he said.

The event will allow established beer brands from across the country and Delmarva to be right next to smaller local upstarts, like The Buzz Meadery in Berlin.

Owner Brett Hines hopes the event can help put his business on the map.

“This is really gonna get us some exposure to some new customers people coming from out of town who haven’t heard of berlin or the buzz meader we do get a lot of stops in traffic but tomorrow gives a good boost if business we need it most,” he said.

He says for him just as important as the customers, is face time with larger businesses allowing him to learn in real-time how to grow and scale his own.

“Networking with each other learning how to troubleshoot little things like this equipment, there are always things that need to be tinkered with so having a network of guys and lady brewers is a great thing,” Hines said.

Davis tells 47ABC, he wants this to be the first year of an annual event, with new themes, new beers, and businesses getting a chance to tap into new customers.

“We are trying to make this area as we joke about, calling it ‘Beerlin’, so we want as much as we can have with local music and local beer to make this a Mecca on the eastern shore,” he said.
