Wes Moore celebrates birthday on Eastern Shore, says he plans to fight for H2B visa workers if elected

POCOMOKE CITY, Md- Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Wes Moore visited the Eastern Shore Saturday, celebrating his birthday at a Fish Fry event in Pocomoke City, and pledging to make sure issues crucial to the area receive attention in Annapolis.

Moore tells us on the issue of H2b visa workers, he’s glad to hear the state has been authorized to bring in 130 thousand of additional workers but says the lottery system is still a persistent problem.
He tells us that businesses can’t move to Maryland or invest in the state if they can’t count on getting workers, adding if elected, he plans to use the platform of the governor to get national leaders to recognize the challenge.

“There is an incredibly important bully pulpit that the governor’s office has to push not just our federal delegation but also getting other delegations and people around the country on this issue because it is a federal issue but it’s impacting us Marylanders and we will have a voice on that,” Moore said.

Moore also spent the day in Salisbury getting a tour of the downtown area from Mayor Jake Day at Mogan’s Oyster House and
and meeting with Maryland General Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Sheree Sample Hughes.
