Sunfest in full swing, bringing the community together through arts and crafts
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Sunfest is in full swing in Ocean City and many families came out to get in on all the fun as the event celebrates its 47th year.
“We come down here every year it’s just the entertainment and all the food and all the crafts. It’s just a fun time,” says Sheryl Dami, an Ocean City visitor.
Sheryl Dami is talking about ocean city’s sun fest.
“Sunfest is our celebration of the end of the season for Ocean City. It is primarily music crafts and great food,” says Ocean City, Special Events Director Frank Miller.
If you’re a regular visitor to Sunfest, it may look a little different this year. “We’ve added little micro activities for people to do here. We have a Halloween maze, we have a pet parade a driving sky, a trunk or treat and a pumpkin race,” Miller says.
One vendor says it’s not only a chance to sell tea but also a way to connect with the community. “Hoping to give back to the community, and support the community local ocean city I did a lot of like things when I was younger, so a lot of fond memories so coming back here as an adult is just all happy and helping the community is really great,” says vendor Zach Denning of True Honey Teas.
The event is three days long – and officials say there’s fun for everyone to enjoy. “A lot for everybody to do sort of bringing back that family flavor, get the family out, get them active. A lot of things you can join in and really enjoy,” says Miller.
The fun doesn’t end today be sure to stop by the inlet – any time before Sunday at 6 pm. To find more information about Sunfest visit their website.
