Snow Hill to create a plan to preserve Byrd Park
SNOW HILL, Md. – The city of Snow Hill may need some work to prevent future flooding.
This after a study in Byrd Park. 47 ABC spoke with the town manager who says the study provides measures to fix what he says is historic flooding issues for at least 2 decades. After the engineers completed the study they provided the city with 5 alternatives adding up 4 million dollars. But officials say that’s not in the budget. The city does has a plan to make sure the park gets the work that it needs.
“So what we hope to do is to start small and get some of what they call some of the low hanging, the things that are affordable whether its a matter of opening clogged drained lines and improving some of the existing draining facilities 2:52 that are already there,” says Rick Pollitt, the town manager of Snow Hill.
Pollitt tells us they are committed to carrying out the work that needs to be done. It will take time however they plan to preserve the park for residents and visitors. You can view the full study on their website.
