Layton’s Chance Winery holds fall festival, despite bleak weather

VIENNA, Md- Layton’s Chance Winery didn’t let the overcast skies and rainy weather stop their 13th annual fall festival Sunday.

The event featured grape stomping, pumpkin picking, kids’ games, live music, and more, as the venue shifted the events to be under covered tents and indoors to adjust to the weather.

They say the turnout was lower than expected due to the rain, but they are thrilled to have gotten to see kids and adults, enjoying the fun.

Manager Jennifer Layton tells 47ABC, the event also saw local vendors selling their homemade goods which she says is one of her favorite parts of the event.

“We want to have something for everybody, be a comfortable place for everyone to come and have fun even in this weather, everyone who is here is enduring the weather and it feels like we are all in this together,” Layton said.

She tells us though sales were muted by the weather, she hopes the community returns in full force for their Christmas market this November.
