Fire Won’t Wait, Plan Your Escape

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Fire Department is highlighting fire prevention this week.

The department has educated local schools about fire safety prevention. Ryan Whittington with the department says the conversation of turning on your heat around this time of year is a big question. Whether or not you are turning up the heat the fire department wants to make sure you know fire won’t wait, plan your escape.

“You should know how to get out of your home in case of a fire, have 2 ways out but once you get out where do you go? Your entire family should have a meeting place,” says Ryan Whittington, Public Information Officer of the Ocean City Fire Department.

The Ocean City Fire Department is available to install smoke detectors in homes for families, just give the fire department a call or you can go to the department and pick one up.
